The bond we have with our animals is so special and should be celebrated.
About Nicky Broadhurst
Hi, I'm Nicky and I am an equine and pet photographer based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. Why choose me to photograph your pets? Well I think of pets as part of the family and I love capturing their personalities and the bonds you have with them.

I've loved animals and photography for as long as I can remember. I had many pets as a child; dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, even a chinchilla and more recently 2 gorgeous cats called George and Mildred. But I guess it’s the horse that has had the biggest effect on my life. I've owned horses since I was 11, I went to university to study them and I worked with them for over twenty years.
My passion for photography started at a young age when my dad gave me his old camera. I would photograph anything and everything learning all I could. I went on to take GCSE and A Level photography at school. This was back in the days of Film and although these days I use a digital camera, pretty much everything I learnt then still applies now. I use these skills with my added post processing knowledge to produce stunning artwork of your four legged best friends that you can treasure for life.
This is me with Frank, my slightly quirky Haflinger cross thoroughbred that I share with my daughter.
"It appears to be a family trait that as soon as a camera comes out we all hide!! So, as this is the decade of changing old habits, I decided to reveal my inner diva and embrace the camera ! 'The Little One' took to it like a duck to water, as did all 4 ponies, which was some mean feat lining them up next to each other with ears forward and tummies in (and that was just me and Bobo) Darcy being the only mare amongst all the boys came with a warning not to come too close, good girl!!!!

Obviously, I am now going to spam my social media with the many pics the very clever Nicky took for us. She offered us a brilliant package and being a horsewoman herself she remained patient whilst the ponies wriggled around, pulled faces and ate whatever they could get their mouths round! A bloody wonderful afternoon, thank you"

"I would highly recommend Nicky to capture the best possible photos of your pet. I contacted Nicky a couple of weeks after my beautiful dog, Toby, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. We wanted to get lasting memories of him to keep forever. Nicky knew we didn’t have much time left, and booked us in straight away.
On the day she was just brilliant. She took time to listen to stories about him, and found out what an amazing (I know I’m biased) dog Toby really was. She took into account that he had become quite wobbly and he had a severe head tilt due to the tumour. She was so patient with us all and gave Toby time to be comfortable.
Toby was a therapy dog for my daughter, and Nicky captured that side of him too by taking photos of him touching and holding my daughter’s hand (my daughter didn’t want to be photographed, but was really happy that Nicky could just photograph her hand)
The end results were absolutely amazing. We were totally blown away by how Nicky had captured Toby’s personality as well as his beauty and kindness. When Nicky then worked on our favourite images we were blown away all over again. The finished results were more stunning than we could ever have imagined!"
Thank you Nicky
